Q.
Can you supply a version of PipemaX with changes to some of the field names ?
A.
There is a configuration feature that can be made available to allow column headings, menu option names and field labels to be altered for each database installation. This can be used to reflect changes in terminology and also assist if there are language differences.

Q.
Can I re-arrange and alter the sequence of the columns on grid style list displays ?
A.
The width of columns can be adjusted and columns may be dragged to re-sequence the column order. A menu option can be set to ‘use custom lists’ and that means that an altered grid display layout will saved with your login so that the new layout will apply next time you access the screen, even in a different session.

Q.
Can PipemaX work in conjunction with a stock / inventory system ?

A.
Yes.  Pipe identification details and associated reference information such as serial numbers, heat / cast numbers can be loaded via an intermediate file transfer facility. In addition, if you have acquired StockmaX (part of the MatriX suite of applications from Pinnacle Business Solutions) this information can be populated directly into the PipemaX database.

Another advantage would be that StockmaX has the ability to track material (pipe) at different locations. For example, material may be delivered to a centralised location and then forwarded to a pipeline construction base and tracked through different intermediate storage sites along the pipeline construction route.

Q.
How do you deal with welder qualifications and welding procedures ?
A.
PipemaX has facility to hold a list of the welding procedures that may apply on a pipeline construction project.  The welder records in the system are able to show the date when qualified for each weld procedure and the date when the certification will expire.  Each weld record shows which weld procedure was applied and which crew undertook the weld as weld as the date of the weld.

A different system, WeldmaX, is available from Pinnacle Business Solutions Ltd that will allow the detailed welding data to be defined. This system allows a Word document to be printed in any required style to produce the industry standard documents, WPS (welding procedure specification) and PQR (Procedure Qualification Record). The WeldmaX database has comprehensive search capabilities to simplify access to previously used weld procedures.

Q.
Can PipemaX be applied to monitor the fabrication and welding quality control information for process pipework?
A.
Possibly, but we have another system within the MatriX suite, AssuremaX, that is particularly designed to cater for process pipework; it also deals with structural steel welding data. AssuremaX is also particularly efficient when the drawing material takeoff module, QuantimaX is used to automate the set up of a lot of the AssuremaX data.
